Costa Rican Leaf Katydid by Hoodoo2060 Costa Rican Leaf Katydid by Hoodoo2060
A Katydid disguised as a leaf found in Monteverde Cloud forest. They really do feel just like a leaf as well, and the legs looks like sticks. I think the one sticking out towards the camera was injured. I also found one of these just last night on the door to my room.

Also interesting: I've seen preserved ones in cases that were falling apart, and the way they decay looks just like a decaying leaf. They brown, and the skin in between the vein structure of the "leaves" goes brittle and falls away, leaving the branching veins.
